If you’re like me, when you hear about God’s blessings and miracles you automatically think of stories in the Bible, but it is difficult to imagine that we receive blessings even when we’re not paying attention.
We live such busy lives and we think we are so much more “advanced” than people living in biblical times, that we really take our blessings for granted.
Take me for example, in the past few days I have come to realize that I complain about a lot of things, while I failed to recognize the many blessings I receive every day.
These are some examples of what I’ve noticed…
- I have complained about a husband with a little bit of an attitude, but I’ve failed to recognize a husband that helps me with the household chores, with the kids and that every day he tells me he loves me.
- I have complained about my husband not having much patience with our 2 loud and crazy kids, but I’ve failed to recognize a father that does whatever he needs to do for the benefit of his family, he plays with the kids and shows them how much he loves them every day.
- I have complained about my kids being messy at home and distracted at school, but I’ve failed to recognize that my 2 kids are happy, healthy and they tell me I’m “the best mom in the world” every day.
- I have complained about past friends who betrayed me, but I’ve failed to recognize people really close to me that are true and unconditional even when we don’t “hang out”.
- I have complained about not landing my dream job, but I’ve failed to recognize that I was called to have my own business.
These are just some of the things that I’ve realized in the past few days, now let’s talk about you… have you recognized your blessings? Take a moment to reflect and look past what you don’t like in your life or what you don’t have and see, recognize and cherish what you’ve been given.
