No, I don’t think I’m Britney Spears (nor I want to be). The other day I was doing some things to my websites, deleting duplicate things, addon domains, etc and I don’t remember doing it, but apparently I accidentally deleted my main blog’s domain!

Do I have to say I panicked? That is my baby! I put so much thought and effort into that blog and I tried to find my files everywhere I could think of with no success. They were GONE!

I remembered that I had a backup somewhere… if I only could remember where I saved it! I still don’t know where they are saved… anyway, I went to my hosting provider Hostgator, entered their chat customer service and explained my problem.

They searched for my files and I indeed had deleted them all! They asked me to wait for a few seconds… then the technician comes back and tells me: “We found a backup of your blog in our files, do you want us to restore it for you?”… “Do I want WHAT? OF COURSE, I’m almost crying here!”

“OK, fill out this form and once you confirm your request on an email you’re going to receive, we’ll restore it for you, it will take between 12-24 hours”

I said: “OK!” I was thrilled that I didn’t lose all my work of over a year… well, less than 30 minutes after the chat session ended, my blog was there again, completely restored, nothing was lost… I have only 3 words: I love Hostgator.

I have been approached with many hosting offers (of unknown hosting companies) for less than half of what I’m paying and I am telling you… there is NO WAY I would ever switch just to save me a few bucks… my peace of mind and the reliability of my hosting provider are: PRICELESS! (Plus they are green! So if you are in any of my sites, know that they are powered by Texas wind!)
